Palatine hosts the annual Downtown Palatine Street Fest, a popular celebration held every summer. Residents enjoy the entertainment provided by local businesses, including live music, food, games and even a Palatine Police bike race.
The Palatine Park District provides many sports and recreation opportunities for Palatine residents. The Palatine Park District maintains over 40 parks within the community. The Palatine Trail provides 15 miles of paths that wind throughout the neighborhood parks, the Palatine Hills Golf Course, Deer Grove Forest Preserve and Harper College.
The Palatine Hills Golf Course is a popular 18-hole championship golf course, featuring 195-acres, a pro shop, clubhouse and driving range. Other sporting activities within Palatine include the Palatine Horse Stables, offering English riding lessons and boarding.
The Family Aquatic Center in Palatine features two 180-foot slides, two tot
water slides, a 6-lane lap pool, a sand play area and a large lawn area.
Another facility available to Palatine residents is the Community Center,
with an indoor
track, gymnasium, gymnastics facilities, locker rooms, weight room and classrooms.
Nearby Birchwood Park Recreation Center offers a gymnasium, a 50 meter pool,
fitness and dance classes, as well as preschool and babysitting areas.

In 1976, a century-old house on East Palatine Road was purchased and restored by the Palatine Historical Society. The Palatine Historical Society, with assistance from the Palatine Public Library and the Palatine Park District, raised $200,000 to restore the Clayson House Museum. Names after the original builder, the George S. Clayson house was built in 1873. The Clayson House Museum is preserving and displaying Palatine’s local history and memorabilia through books, records and photographs of Palatine’s past.
